About ACPI
In 1988, the Chief Executive Officer of AEGIS Protection Group, Daniel Keller, recognized a void in training for the crime prevention specialist throughout the United States.
Beginning with the notion that those officers assigned to the crime prevention task required specialized training to further their individual skills development and to enable them to succesfully perform their duties in the non traditional reactive mode that is prevalent in American law enforcement, the American Crime Prevention Institute was founded and the first specialized training program was offered in Louisville, Kentucky.

Since 1988, The American Crime Prevention Institute has trained thousands of civilian and sworn crime prevention officers from around the globe.

Currently the ACPI offers a two week Basic Crime Prevention Certificacion Course, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Basis, Advance and Situational seminars, Senior Crime Prevention Issues ans Crime Prevention through Community Collaboration.

ACPI is unique in that it is a division of a security design and consulting firm. This relationship blends real life experiences in the security profession with the law enforcement arena. The theories and academics of crime prevention are reinforced with the realities of the 'real' world.

ACPI offers their courses at designated sites throughout the United States and will contract with a local department to provide in-house training at the police departments facilities.
